BOGOR, April 4, 2026 — Cahaya Rancamaya Islamic Boarding School (IBS) Senior High School officially began a new step by launching the School Energy Program. Through this kick off, Cahaya Rancamaya IBS Senior High School was also appointed as a pilot school in Bogor City in terms of implementing renewable energy technology and environmental education.

The launching event received broad support and was attended by representatives of the Bogor City Government, the Bogor City Education Office, as well as the Regional Office of Education Branch (KCD) Region II. Also present were regional officials from South Bogor District and Bojongkerta Subdistrict, along with a number of local media crews who witnessed this important moment.

In collaboration with Onepulse.id and Yayasan Rumah Berguna, this program is designed not merely as a ceremonial event. Its main focus is to produce future generations who are environmentally literate, or what is often referred to as Green Talent.

It is known that to be able to fully transition to renewable energy (full transition to renewable energy), there are three main factors that must be fulfilled: technology, investment, and talent. If the investment and technology sectors are currently being intensively worked on by various parties, the School Energy Program takes a crucial role in the third sector, namely preparing qualified human resources starting from school.

Through this program, environmentally friendly technology will be introduced, directly implemented within the school environment and is expected to become a real initial step. At school, students not only learn the theory of sustainability, but are also invited to see and directly practice how energy is managed wisely. More than that, this activity serves as a reminder that big changes always start from small steps, and that step has begun at Cahaya Rancamaya IBS Senior High School. It is hoped that this real initiative from Cahaya Rancamaya IBS Senior High School can make the concept of sustainability part of students’ lifestyles, as well as inspire other schools to carry out similar movements.

Ramadan always becomes a special moment to strengthen worship while fostering social awareness. This spirit was realized by the Boys’ and Girls’ Student Council of Cahaya Rancamaya Islamic Boarding School through various activities in the Campaign Ramadhan 2026 program held from March 1 to March 14, 2026.

This activity was organized by Cahaya Rancamaya Islamic Boarding School with the main implementers being the Boys’ and Girls’ Student Council of Cahaya Rancamaya, accompanied by the Boys’ Student Council Advisor, Mr. Arcci, and the Girls’ Student Council Advisor, Ms. Sri Intan. In addition, the activity was also supervised by the school Guidance team, namely Mr. Ucu and Ms. Nadya, and involved several teachers in its implementation.

Although the activities took place during exam week, this did not become an obstacle for the students to remain actively contributing to social and religious activities during the holy month of Ramadan.

Distribution of 225 Iftar Packages for the Surrounding Community

In the first week of Ramadan, the Cahaya Rancamaya Student Council held an activity to distribute iftar packages to the community around the school. Through the support of parents, guardians, teachers, and various parties, 225 iftar packages were successfully collected and then distributed to several mosques, prayer rooms, and communities around the school.

This activity became one form of students’ concern for the surrounding community, while also training them to share and experience happiness together in a month full of blessings.

Community Service: Sharing with Orphanages and Rumah Qur’an

In the second week, the activities continued with the Community Service program in the form of the distribution of basic food packages and social activities in several locations.

Boys’ Student Council Visit to Panti Asuhan Tuna Netra Ar Rosadiyyah

On March 12, 2026, the Boys’ Student Council distributed basic food packages to Panti Asuhan Tuna Netra Ar Rosadiyyah in Cigombong, Sukabumi. On that occasion, the students also carried out a program to collect used paper and books which will later be used as braille reading materials for the children at the orphanage. This activity not only became a form of material assistance, but also broadened students’ understanding of the importance of access to education for all groups, including people with disabilities.

Girls’ Student Council Activities at Rumah Qur’an Yayasan Al Falah Indonesia

Meanwhile, the Girls’ Student Council carried out a social activity at Rumah Qur’an Yayasan Al Falah Indonesia, Sentul Bogor, on March 7, 2026. In this activity, the female students led by the Girls’ Student Council President, Adia Prajna, held Fun Activities with the students of the Rumah Qur’an.

The activities included creative activities such as coloring and drawing DIY tote bags, which aimed to strengthen togetherness while fostering empathy and a sense of brotherhood between Cahaya Rancamaya IBS students and the students at the Rumah Qur’an. The event was then closed with the distribution of iftar to 30 students, which was enjoyed together with the foundation administrators.

Sharing Happiness: Shopping for Eid Clothes with Orphans and the Underprivileged

One of the most memorable activities in this year’s Campaign Ramadhan was the program of shopping for Eid clothes with orphans and the underprivileged. This activity was held at Matahari Ekalokasari, Bogor, through coordination with local village officials and Babinsa.

A total of 40 elementary and junior high school children from the area around Rancamaya were invited to experience the joy of welcoming Eid al-Fitr. Accompanied by members of the Boys’ and Girls’ Student Council, they walked around the shopping center to choose their favorite clothes.

Although it was carried out while fasting and feeling tired, all the fatigue seemed to disappear when seeing the happy smiles of the children who received new clothes for Eid.

Mabit and the Commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an

In addition to social activities, the Campaign Ramadhan was also filled with spiritual development activities through Mabit (Malam Bina Iman dan Taqwa) which was held on March 6 and 7, 2026 for junior high and senior high school students separately.

This activity was the result of collaboration between the School Religious Department and the Student Council, represented by Mr. Hari together with the students. Various activities were carried out during Mabit, including:

Games and togetherness activities
Watching a Ramadan-themed film
Religious lectures in commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an
Itikaf and completion of the recitation of the Qur’an

Through this activity, students not only deepened their religious understanding, but also strengthened ukhuwah and togetherness within the school environment.

Fostering Hablum Minallah and Hablum Minannas

Although the series of activities of Campaign Ramadhan Cahaya Rancamaya IBS 2026 took place in a relatively short time, namely during the busy exam week, this activity is expected to provide valuable experiences for the students.

Ramadan is not only a time to strengthen the relationship with Allah SWT (Hablum Minallah) through worship and fasting as stated in Surah Az-Zariyat verse 56, Allah SWT says which means:

“I did not create jinn and mankind except to worship Me.”

but also becomes a momentum to foster compassion, empathy, and care for fellow human beings (Hablum Minannas).

Through these various social and spiritual activities, the Cahaya Rancamaya IBS Student Council shows that the younger generation is not only capable of achieving academically, but also has social awareness and a strong spirit of sharing with the community.

In an effort to build cooperation and harmonious relationships in supporting children’s growth and development, the school held a parenting seminar with the theme “Becoming a Friend to Your Child.” This activity aims to provide parents with an understanding of the importance of building warm, open, and trusting relationships with their children.

The event began with remarks from the school’s Director of Education, Dr. Ari Rosandi, S.Si., M.Pd., who emphasized that children’s education is not only the responsibility of the school, but also a close synergy between the school and the family. The Director of Education conveyed that in the digital era and the rapidly changing times, children face many challenges, so they need parents who not only act as guides, but also as trusted friends.

After the remarks, the event continued with an introduction to the material on “How the Brain Works,” delivered by Chusnul Justanti, S.Tr.Kes., Ftr., M.Kes., AIFO. Understanding how a child’s brain works will help us as parents respond more wisely to various situations. Sometimes children seem difficult to manage, their emotions change easily, or they appear unfocused. These things are often not simply because the child does not want to obey, but may occur because their brain development is learning to manage emotions, understand rules, and build thinking abilities.

In the main session, Dr. Aski Marissa, Psychologist, as the speaker delivered material on “Becoming a Friend to Your Child,” explaining effective parenting patterns in building emotional closeness with children. The speaker explained that becoming a friend to a child does not mean parents lose authority or allow children to do anything. On the contrary, parents still have a role as guides, but with a more empathetic approach, full of attention, and respectful of the child’s feelings.

Participants were also invited to understand the child’s world, listen without judging, and provide positive emotional support. In this way, children feel appreciated and accepted, allowing their self-confidence and ability to manage emotions to grow well.

This seminar took place interactively. Parents were given the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences regarding the challenges they face in educating their children. The discussion showed that every family has different dynamics, but the main principles that must be maintained are communication, affection, and parental role modeling.

Through this parenting seminar, it is hoped that parents will increasingly understand the importance of building harmonious relationships with their children. When parents are able to become good friends, children not only feel loved but also have a safe place to share stories and seek solutions.

In the end, a warm family full of communication will become an important foundation in shaping a generation that has character, self-confidence, and the ability to face life’s challenges in the future.

SMA Cahaya Rancamaya once again became a strategic meeting point between secondary education and the international higher education ecosystem. On December 9, Prof. Dr. Ardi Findyartini, Ph.D., Director of Strategy and Transformative Learning Systems at the Directorate General of Science and Technology of Higher Education, conducted a working visit while reviewing the series of activities at the UK Universities Mini Exhibition, which brought together nine universities from the United Kingdom. This program was held as an effort to expand access to global education information for students.

The mini exhibition featured comprehensive information about studying abroad, including academic programs, scholarship opportunities, and career prospects. In addition, students attended a UCAS Admission webinar that discussed the university application process in the UK in detail. Through direct interaction with representatives of international universities, students gained clearer insights into the preparation needed to pursue higher education overseas.

The Directorate of Strategy and Transformative Learning Systems (SSPT) viewed this event as an important momentum to bring together two educational ecosystems—schools and international universities—within one collaborative space. This approach aligns with the focus of transformative learning, which encourages students to broaden their global horizons, build international networks, and prepare for a more progressive and borderless future in education.

Sustainable Education: Campus–School Collaboration as a Solution for the Future

On the same day, the Director of Strategy and Transformative Learning Systems, together with her team, conducted a direct visit to support the implementation of The UK Undergraduate Admission, a program facilitated by the British Council. The visit was designed to ensure that information about higher education pathways in the United Kingdom can be widely and equitably accessed by students, while strengthening academic literacy and global readiness from the secondary school level.

The presence of SSPT leadership demonstrated the Directorate General’s commitment to ensuring that the program runs optimally, remains relevant, and effectively addresses student needs in the era of global competition. Support for creating a responsive learning ecosystem is expected to open more opportunities for Indonesian youth to compete on the international stage.

Beyond the outreach sessions, the event also showcased the innovative works of SMA Cahaya Rancamaya students through an internal mini exhibition. A variety of research outputs and science projects were presented, ranging from eco-friendly ecosoap, wastewater filtration systems for sustainable sanitation, plant seedling technology designed to accelerate growth, to AI-based high-accuracy cameras for object detection. These works represent the school’s strong foundation in research-based and project-based learning.

The presentation of student projects before guests from international universities demonstrates that the school is not only opening global access but also building strong academic and innovation capacities from an early stage. This cross-institutional collaboration serves as a concrete step in fostering a generation of innovators capable of contributing positively to society, both nationally and globally.

SMP & SMA Cahaya Rancamaya Islamic Boarding School received a working visit from the Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr. Fajar Riza Ul Haq, M.A, on November 24, 2025. This visit was part of the Ministry’s agenda to review the implementation of deep learning, STEM development programs, and the school’s readiness in supporting the Garuda School Program.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister was welcomed by the school leadership, teachers, and student representatives. Following the opening session, he proceeded to review the exhibition area showcasing various student projects and research works from both junior and senior high school levels. The exhibition reflected Cahaya Rancamaya’s commitment to developing project-based education, scientific research, and applied technology.

Several works that drew special attention included an Arduino-based distance-measuring radar, bioethanol research from three types of fungi, STEM experiments, simple sensor-based innovations, as well as biology and physics projects developed through inquiry-based learning. Each student group presented their research process, starting from planning, experimentation, and analysis, to the implementation of results.

The Deputy Minister expressed his appreciation for the quality of the projects and the students’ ability to explain their research processes. He emphasized that the deep learning approach applied at Cahaya Rancamaya aligns with the government’s vision to promote meaningful, student-centered learning that cultivates higher-order thinking skills. According to him, the processes practiced by the students—observing, experimenting, evaluating, and improving—are essential competencies that must continue to be strengthened in schools.

He also conveyed that strengthening scientific and technological literacy is a strategic step in preparing the younger generation to face the challenges of the digital era. Schools that successfully establish a research and innovation ecosystem based on STEM play a significant role in accelerating national education transformation.

The school explained that Cahaya Rancamaya has integrated research-based learning into the curriculum through experimental projects, teacher mentoring, laboratory activities, and the habituation of learning by doing within the boarding environment. This approach not only enhances students’ academic understanding but also shapes their character to be more independent, creative, and responsible.

This visit became an important momentum for Cahaya Rancamaya IBS to strengthen its commitment to creating an innovative and adaptive learning environment. The support and appreciation from the Deputy Minister affirmed that the school’s development direction is aligned with the Ministry’s policies on improving learning quality and fostering a research culture within educational institutions.

Cahaya Rancamaya will continue to advance deep learning practices, enrich research facilities, and expand opportunities for students to experiment, enabling the school to produce a generation that is ethical, excellent, and ready to compete at the national and global levels.

A new chapter in Indonesia’s education landscape has officially begun. On October 8, 2025, the government launched the Garuda School Program simultaneously across various regions under the theme “Introducing Garuda School: A New Hope for Excellent Education.” With great pride, SMA Cahaya Rancamaya Islamic Boarding School, Bogor, was chosen as one of the official launch sites.

For us, the presence of Garuda School is more than just a national program—it is a form of recognition and deep trust from the government in our commitment to providing globally competitive education rooted in Islamic values and focused on developing future leaders.

Building an Excellent Generation from Bogor for Indonesia

During the launching ceremony, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Dra. Hj. Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, M.Si, attended on behalf of the central government. She emphasized that Garuda School stands on three main pillars: equal access to education, leadership development, and sustainable academic excellence.

This initiative is part of the Quick Best Results Program (PHTC), derived from President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita, which focuses on strengthening human resources in science, technology, education, and leadership. Through Garuda School, the government aims to provide the best platform for young talents to gain access to world-class universities while maintaining their dedication to serving Indonesia.

Cahaya Rancamaya and the Garuda Education Concept

The principal of SMA Cahaya Rancamaya, Sandra Susanto, S.Ag., M.Pd.I., explained that the school has been selected as a model for the Garuda Excellent Transformation School concept. It combines the national curriculum, the Cambridge curriculum, and daily religious practices to shape students who excel academically and possess strong character.

Students of SMA Cahaya Rancamaya come from various regions across Indonesia, selected through a rigorous process involving academic tests, psychological assessments, and interviews. Teachers receive regular training twice a year to maintain the quality of instruction.

A Great Dream Toward the 2045 Generation

The launch of Garuda School is not merely an educational project—it is a long-term investment to nurture the 2045 Generation, young Indonesians who dare to dream big and compete globally.

The Chief of the Presidential Staff, Dr. Muhammad Qodari, S.Psi., M.A., described Garuda School as a tangible realization of President Prabowo’s vision to provide access to excellent education for all Indonesian children. The government is committed to overseeing regulatory aspects, funding, and the quality of educators.

Challenges remain, from infrastructure readiness to the distribution of qualified teachers. Yet the spirit is clear: Indonesia is building a platform for its brightest youth to learn, grow, and contribute to the nation.

Garuda School is not just another school—it is a symbol of hope, a place where the dreams of Indonesian children begin to find their wings.

Hello CR Friends, how are you doing?
We hope you are always healthy and happy wherever you are.

Back again with CR updates that will always bring you the latest news and activities from Cahaya Rancamaya Islamic Boarding School.

In commemoration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, Cahaya Rancamaya Islamic Boarding School once again held the National Defense Program for new students of the 2025/2026 academic year.

The activity, conducted on Thursday, August 28, 2025, aimed to foster and build positive character traits in students, such as discipline, resilience, agility, and more.

Guided directly by personnel from the Indonesian Army, the program began with health checks by the medical team, followed by warming up and stretching exercises, and then continued with a long march of approximately 2.5 hours.

Upon arrival at the training area, students received material on how to use safety tools and equipment when crossing an emergency rope bridge. Afterward, they prepared for the Dhuhr prayer and lunch.

During lunch, students were also taught discipline and proper etiquette regarding food. The activities then continued with the spider web challenge and concluded with rappelling, descending from a height using ropes.

Before returning to their beloved school, students were also given basic marching drills. They participated enthusiastically in every part of the program until the very end.

It is hoped that through this program, CRIBS students will gain valuable experiences to prepare themselves as a resilient generation, equipped not only with knowledge but also with strong Islamic character.
